We provide multiple courses from the American Heart Association (AHA) to meet varied training needs of companies, groups and individuals.  Courses include:

BLS Provider Course

This course utilizes the 2020 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for use in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.  Students will need to complete both skills practice and testing and must complete a written exam.  Students will receive a workbook and a CPR breathing barrier to take home.  The cost is $75 per student.

The course teaches high-quality CPR skills, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) usage and the relief of choking for adults and infants.  Students successfully completing all phases of the course will be certified for a period of 2 years.

Heartsaver Courses

Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

Heartsaver CPR-AED

This course utilizes the 2020 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC and is designed to prepare students to provide CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED).  Students will need to demonstrate the course skills.  The cost is $50 to learn the adult and child skills.  Adding infant training skills is an additional $10 cost.  Students will receive a workbook and a CPR breathing barrier to take home.

The course teaches high-quality CPR skills, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) usage and the relief of choking. Students successfully completing the course will be certified for a period of 2 years.

Heartsaver First Aid

This course is designed to prepare students to provide first aid for common emergencies in a safe and efficient manner. The course focuses on first aid skills for adults and children.  The cost to complete this course is $50.  Students will receive a workbook to take home.  Students successfully completing the course will be certified for a period of 2 years.

The course includes modules on:

  • First Aid basics - Basic roles and responsibilities, scene safety, phoning for help and finding the problem
  • Medical emergencies - Heart attacks, breathing problems, strokes, diabetes and anaphylactic reactions
  • Injury emergencies - Bleeding, broken bones and sprains, burns and amputations
  • Environmental emergencies - Heat emergencies and cold emergencies
Heartsaver CPR-AED and First Aid

This course is a combination of the CPR-AED and First Aid course listed above.  The cost to complete this combination course is $75.

Heartsaver Pediatric CPR-AED and First (Currently not available)

This course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers.  It teaches child care providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes of emergency situations until professional help arrives.  The course covers adult/child/infant CPR-AED, adult/child/infant choking, and pediatric first aid.  The cost to complete this course is $85. Students will receive a workbook and a CPR breathing barrier to take home.  Students successfully completing the course will be certified for a period of 2 years.

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens

This course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction.

This course was designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as industrial first aid/safety teams, maintenance/janitorial workers, child care workers, hotel staff and security guards.

This course should reference an employer's Exposure Control Plan as required by OSHA Standard 1910.1030.

The cost to complete this course is $30.  Students will receive a workbook take home.  Students successfully completing the course will be certified for a period of 1 year.
